At the World Parrot Trust, we're proud to allocate over 80% of all gifts towards programs that protect parrots, making a direct impact on the lives of our feathered friends. The remaining funds are used to maintain our operations and day-to-day activities, ensuring that we can continue to make a difference in the world of bird conservation.

As a non-profit organization we conduct fundraising and public awareness programs that help us reach the public, grow our membership, and influence key decision-makers in both the public and private sectors. We're committed to transparency, and our supporters and others can easily view our spending ratios and the incredible work made possible by their donations through our annual impact reports and 990s .

Great news! Your generous donation is eligible for a tax deduction to the fullest extent allowed by law. As soon as you complete your contribution, you'll receive a detailed receipt by email that will specify the exact amount you paid and an annual summary to indicate how much of your contributions throughout the year were tax deductible. Yes, anyone who donates online, regardless of the amount, will receive a receipt via email from WPT. When a 3^rd party platform is used for raising funds, such as PayPal Giving Fund, GoFundMe, or Mightycause, the receipt will be issued directly by the platform where applicable.

The WPT automatically sends a receipt for all donations received online. If you have misplaced your information or would like to receive a receipt for a single donation you made to the WPT, please call our membership department at 1-864-610-2129 or contact us and we can mail you a receipt.

Individuals who donate online automatically receive a donation receipt sent to their registered email account each time their donations or membership fees are processed online. 

Gifts that are 'unrestricted' (i.e. that we can use them wherever they'll make the biggest difference) are the most valuable to us as they can be used where they're most urgently needed.

If you're interested in leaving a gift towards a specific aspect of our work, like safeguarding a particular species, preserving specific habitats, enhancing the welfare of parrots, fighting against the detrimental wildlife trade, promoting education, or concentrating on a specific geographical region, please  contact us or note that on your memo line when sending a mailed in cheque.

If you wish to direct your funds to a specific cause, in the memo line of the check or in an accompanying note, please indicate the project or campaign to which the donation should be credited. All checks received without information for a specific donation will be allocated to general funds.

Any donor who mails their donation and provides an address will receive a receipt via mail once the donation has been processed. If you made your donation in monthly installments, you will receive an annual receipt each quarter, showing all monthly payments for the year to date.

The WPT offers a monthly donation pledge program for supporting individuals. You can set up a monthly giving plan online right now. It's the quickest and easiest way to help parrots every month.

Don't feel comfortable donating online? Then we offer two other options: Members can sign up for automatic deductions from their credit card or checking account. If you would prefer to send in your donation, the WPT provides supporting individuals with monthly reminder statements.

You may opt to donate through our user-friendly online platform or by sending your contribution via mail using a cheque.
